Post subject: Blacklight Vinyl Gatefold Help |
|
|
I'm attempting to assemble all four albums on vinyl for my girlfriend's birthday, and want to ensure she gets the most awesome version of each one (which is easy, because three of them only come one way ;D). As such, I want to try to get her a sealed copy of Under The Blacklight with a gatefold cover.
From my own experience trying to buy "rare" sealed items online - sometimes what is advertised is not what's on sale, so I have a couple of questions for the forum at large about details of the gatefold vinyl version of Under The Blacklight.
1. Am I being silly and are all vinyl versions of Blacklight made with a gatefold cover? I'm basing my information on this page: http://www.discogs.com/Rilo-Kiley-Under-The-Blacklight/master/114447
2. If the gatefold is, in fact, a different version, did it also come with a bonus CD? That same page that I'm referencing SPECIFICALLY mentions a CD for the other version, whereas it mentions nothing for the gatefold cover. I'm seeing some sealed copies up for sale listed as "gatefold", but also advertising a "bonus CD" that I'm not sure is supposed to be there if it's the version I'm looking for.
Thank you all very much for your time!
- Sean

10/31/04 The Mayan (or was it The Aztec). It was like one of the three shows I had backstage passes for and worked the merch table. _________________ "Right is right even if no one does it, and wrong is wrong even if everyone does it."

beaple, I'm afraid i've personally no idea about questions 1&2 as I've only bought the CD version- i have found a post that describes it though, which might help:

the last comment on that page. I guess at least you'll know if you get that or not. sorry, not the most useful answer you've ever received
Hope the birthday present goes well... sounds cool |

| I'm assuming the "gatefold" is like a folder. If so, I got my gatefold copy from Amazon back in March. |

I do not know for sure if a non-gatefold version of UTB was released, but every copy of the album I saw in the record bins was gatefolded.
I bought an LP copy of UTB at a Rilo Kiley show in 2007. The LP (obviously a gatefold) did have a CD copy in the same slot as the record. The disc itself has the same artwork as the jewel case CD, but it's housed in those cheap white envelopes you see burned CDs kept in. |
