**edit** weird the site took down the shows since i checked earlier...? i bought tix to the troubadour though. the whisky's site doesn't have them listed on their calendar yet

^ good question! i don't live downtown but i'm always around because i work right in the city and hang out all the time in the city. we should have a big rk boards meetup if the elected tour here (god willing!). or, i'm always down for having a show buddy for shows my bf doesn't want to go to, haha.

jenny played trinity st paul's in 2006... that was the last time i saw her. she didn't bring the acid tongue tour to toronto so i think the church show you're talking about is the 2006 trinity st paul's one?
the elected 'shoe show was really good. small but enthusiastic audience and i hung out "backstage" and chatted for ages with mike bloom. i talked to blake a bit but he was a bit grumpy and standoffish, heh.

If everything works out right, Melbourne for about 6 months. But i do plan on traveling around during that time. how about you, are you heading to sydney or the west coast?

well i live in durham region. just moved here maybe 4 months ago. i haven't really went to any shows (BSS and Jim Bryson) but i think i might go to lykke li in may! i havent really checked if there are any other good ones coming up??

the only shows i'm going to are the raveonettes on saturday and brian wilson in june. i'm kinda cheapo these days with going to shows but sometimes the blog i write for can get me on the media list if i'm reviewing the show.

seriously, though. really good band-- definitely worth checking out if you haven't gotten into them.
BSS are playing with the tragically hip and weezer on canada day, but it's something ridiculous like $80.

i'm headed to melbourne for student exchange, july-dec. i plan on traveling as well, hitting tasmania and potentially renting a car and driving up the east coast-- i hear that is amazing and the best way to see it. flights within the country are also super cheap. |
