|

my friend and i were at the second webster hall show in new york and had meandered over to the merch stand. jenny's "stylist," also named jenny, pulled out a few shirts she had altered after admitting she was "embarrassed by them."
i started looking through at the collection of mostly halter tops when i stumbled upon the wolf tee shirt, altered into a cute, girly way. i was so taken aback that i assumed it couldn't be for sale. then i saw one more. my friend and i asked her if they were purchasable; she told us that they were and that they were the last two she had. she also said that she hadn't been selling them on tour because she thought they sucked.
has anyone else had a similar experience? i was so surprised to purchase one of the tee shirts, and at the merch stand of a 2007 show, no less. my friend and i were on cloud nine for the rest of the night. _________________ my ghey band: http://www.myspace.com/blizzardof96 |

dude is that the wolf tee where the wolf is like by a lake and its howling? if so i ALWAYS wanted that shirt but when i went to the show and they were selling it, i bought cd's instead assuming the shirts would all be the same next time. im jealous even though im a guy and i'd want the unisex version lol _________________ Love me, hate me, say what you want about me. Wow. That's nuts to see that shirt four years later.
Should I ever decide to get rid of mine Nick, you're at the top of the list. I have all three shirts they sold on that tour, and never wore any of them. _________________ My username is apexsensation. But you can call me Jason if you'd like.

You're right on the first one. The cartoon shirt was my least favorite, but I still bought it. The third shirt was the blue shirt with baloons, which is my favorite of the three. _________________ My username is apexsensation. But you can call me Jason if you'd like.

My apologies if this is against the rules (I haven't been on here in so long I forget what's going), but I figured I'd drop a line and a link and let you dudes know that I am sadly parting ways with the altered wolf tee I originally posted about. Not sure if anyone is interested, but I figured it was worth a shot. I'd love to hang on to it, but I sadly cannot pay my rent and am selling off all of my collectibles. Thank you, recession!
Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200368569311&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
And please excuse the blurry picture of my less-than-lovely body. Adieu! _________________ my ghey band: http://www.myspace.com/blizzardof96 |

Wow. Now that's a shirt! I've never seen that RK shirt before, it's fantastic.
What happens to all these old designs? I've never seen anyone wearing any of the old RK shirts...it makes me wonder what happens to them all! |

I only even heard of RK last year, so I'm stuck w/the UTB shirts. Other than the opossum shirt (which I own! it makes me happy), I'm not too crazy about them. _________________ It's so fucking beautiful |

Rilo Kiley shirts stopped being as good after the Fall 2004 tour.

The guitar shirt is still my overall favorite RK shirt and one of my favorites overall. I like where the guitars are placed. I've noticed that I like shirts with unusually placed art, like the that dog. shirt I'm wearing now.
And yes, the shirt is legit. I remember seeing it on the Saddle Creek site in 2002 and 2003 when Execution came out.

Agreed. I bought all three from the spring/summer 03 tour (including the wolf shirt and my favorite, the balloon shirt) and the last ones I liked were the bird shirt and the car crash shirt, both from when More Adventurous came out. _________________ My username is apexsensation. I just noticed the OP asking if the shirt is legit. It is indeed. I bought that shirt when Rilo Kiley toured in October of 2002 right before hopping on the Rainer Maria tour. I always thought of that shirt as rare as they only had it on the one tour but i have seen it pop up hear and there since then.

I'd still consider it relatively rare or uncommon since they don't pop up on auction sites very often and it's a shirt from before they were a well known band. Like I said, it was on the Saddle Creek site, so I imagine a person or two may have bought it there. _________________ My username is apexsensation. But you can call me Jason if you'd like.
