and finally in this little burst, the first song off the absolute album of the year - Trembling Bells and Bonnie Prince Billy (the best song isn't on YouTube, but this is a corker)

I dont believe in guilty pleasures. I openly will admit I love the Backstreetboys however Have I ever told you I love the song "Stop" by the Spice Girls? well I found this cute cover..
I am a total sucker for that song. That's a great version. Just a silky smooth groove throughout. Love it.
I don't like Pixie's voice on every song, but she did a good job with this one. I'm a sucker for a cover that distinguishes itself from the original too, which this does. _________________ "Right is right even if no one does it, and wrong is wrong even if everyone does it."

Also, there's this beauty:

I've kind of been in a music slump recently. Haven't heard anything new that wowed me. I'm going to have to go through this thread. _________________ "When God gave us mirrors....he had no idea...."

Finally listened to your suggestions. Thank you very much!
Cuff The Duke - I dig them. Cool to listen to while working.
Slow Club - Not bad at all, but I don't want to quickly check our their album(s).
Japandroids - Very familiar with them as I have a bunch of their stuff.
Freelance Whales - Heard them before. Generator is a really good song.
Gram Rabbit - Disappointing. Probably not a good first song to listen to as it seemed like a generic attempt at a Christmas song with a video that pretty much was based on showing off her body.
Blondfire - I liked them, but they made me want to listen to the Cardigans.
Dengue Fever - I remember this song. I like it. Haven't heard any other songs of theirs though.
Anyway, I think I found what I was looking for. This band has everything: deep lyrics, a tight new sound, sexy stage presence, and great crowd participation.
