Post subject: blake and jenny at the Whispertown CD release party. |

Last night my fiance and I attended the Whispertown CD release party at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood. Morgan had a few different artist open up for her, one of those two artist were Jenny and Johnny. When Morgan got up to sing she had a backing band that included Jason Boesel and Blake. At the end of the show Jenny and Blake were cooped up against a wall talking and laughing, then Jonathan Rice came over and even he shared a few laughs with Blake. Jonathan Rice then left after a few minutes, but Blake and Jenny continued talking. A few fans (including myself) were lucky enough to get a picture with the both of them. Security then began to ask everyone to leave the place, Blake and Jenny continued talking for a few more minutes and then they said their goodbyes they hugged and kissed. I heard Jenny say to Blake something like "I missed you" and Blake responded with a "I've missed you too, you're my beastie, you know you're my beastie" Awesome!!! The interesting part about all this was how all of their close friends (michael runion, morgan nagler, jason boesel, etc) were looking over at them with both a face of concern and excitement. I don't know how their relationship has been through the whole break- up, I was assuming 'not too good' after hearing Jenny and Johnny introduce My Pet Snakes being about a "greedy little snake who lives on a hill in echo park". Maybe a reunion is possible.

I like everything about this story 
Blake & Jenny getting on together can only be a good thing - even if only for them personally. But we can all secretly hope it means a potential union one day (or at least an end to the delays on the rarities collection).
Also great to hear Jenny & Johnny took to the stage (although would prefer Jenny & Blake of course)... hopefully this endless silence from Ms Lewis is about to come to an end. What songs did they play? I'm guessing not My Pet Snakes with Blake in the audience... |

Cool story. Lot's of possibilities there. I'm wondering if anyone knows if Blake is playing with Whispertown beyond just this show? Did he work on their EP?

i thought jenny looked prego, in the one photo i saw. maybe she just gained some weight.

You mean this photo? (There are a couple of other photos at the main site, but Johnny is blocking our view). She looks fine, just wearing one of those old country singer dresses. |

I listened to Acid Tongue last night because I missed me some Jenny Lewis and then I come here and read this. So glad to see they're finally getting along, the lyrical mud-slinging was not doing much to sustain my hopes of a 5th album. I think is very, very, very good news.
I hope if, no WHEN, this 5th album occurs they tell us all of the digs at each other were completely made-up just to entertain the fans and they are actually laughing at us for believing it. Maybe Jenny, being the big hip hop fan that she is, wanted to stage a "rap" feud. I'm just glad no one was shot.

I believe the new lineup is Morgan, Jake Bellows, Nick White and Mindy Jones. At least that's what it had been when they opened for JandJ and The Elected. By the way, Jake's presence on "Blood from Wine" SO. GOOD.

They're releasing an album this year (but I think that's information that it out there?). Some of their members are busy touring with friends, but I'm under the impression that it's all happening soon.
