And if your name isn't on the lease, then it's doubly not your problem. I'd find out for sure about the lease, then call the gas company to get your name taken off the bill, and then just get out as soon as humanly possible. It doesn't matter if your roommate agrees to it. It sounds like she's been nothing but a complete shit, and you don't owe her anything, especially courtesy or consideration, since she's given you none. You need to make decisions based on what is best for you, not what she thinks you ought to do. And as for her not being able to afford the rent--tell her to get her boyfriend to help out, since he already lives there, anyway. I hope it works out for you somehow. It definitely is time for you to catch a break. |

this is the plan.
I already called the gas company, my names off the bill.
I'm calling the landlord today (i can only get a hold of him after 1:30) and I'm asking for a copy of the agreement first, just to see if my names on it or anything. I know for a fact that we didn't sign a 1 year lease or anything, we were just month-to-month.
Jess and her boy-toy are gone Thursday night for a work fishing derby I'm not going to, so I'm moving home that night.
I feel bad so I might give her one months rent. I'm too nice and I have no backbone. This is literally the worst thing I have ever done in my life. _________________ "oh no! jabba is going to choose jenny lewis for his wife. R2D2 will destroy him!"

Good luck! And I vote don't give her the rent, though to be honest its something I would do because I too have no backbone, lol. I'm glad that you're getting out of there though and congrats on the job! _________________ Oh my God Karen, you can't just ask someone why they're white!

lawyers have been contacted. how did it get to this?
she told me i need to give her 60 days notice, its "the law". She sent me a link to the tenant and landlord act or whatever. Called them. Its a legal issue, theres nothing written in the act about this situation. They gave me a legal aid offices number. Called them. The secretary told me that theres nothing she can do, but shes going to have a lawyer call me this afternoon.
p.s they just called, theres nothing she can do. _________________ "oh no! jabba is going to choose jenny lewis for his wife. R2D2 will destroy him!"

When you say there's nothing "she" can do, do you mean "she" as your roommate? If so, that's awesome. _________________ + veronica

You can power through it, Slicks. Just tell yourself you only have to live through one more week. _________________ "Right is right even if no one does it, and wrong is wrong even if everyone does it."

I'd call this one a pretty big victory. Seriously, good for you for standing up for yourself and demanding the treatment you deserve. _________________ i box up live raccoons and ship them to countries where they don't live.

The management in my department is incrediby unorganized. Most of our department works from home, so this week management asked a few of us (myself included) to come work in the office to help train some new folks. Four of us have been here the entire day, and they have not had us do a single thing. We have not talked to a single new person. What a waste of time. Plus it meant I had to get up, get dressed and shower when I have grown accostomed to working in my pajamas... _________________ happiness is not a fish that you can catch. |

I just got shot for being the messenger.
The move to the temp building involved all kinds of little hassles that I expected. But they WAY underestimated how many items we needed to put in storage because of being in a smaller space.
So now we have 3 weeks of items (all requiring separate organization systems) and no where to put them.
When I told management that we needed to quickly put 25% more in storage to get control of the situation I was told that I was speaking out of my place.
So now, I am surrounded by increasing piles of stuff and management won't make the call to store stuff and I'm in the shithouse for pointing it out.
Everyone else on the ground level agrees with me completely, but their attitude is to just let the train wreck and then mgmt will wake up. My co-workers told me to stop throwing myself on the grenade.
They're right, so I'll just do nothing - but am so irate. _________________ The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining. |

No way you are wrong for pointing out the truth. It may not have been convenient for management to hear it, but eventually they will know it's the truth and remember that you knew what needed to be done. _________________ "When God gave us mirrors....he had no idea...."

Well it has totally hit now and I'm getting some grudging redemption.
But we're in so deep that it will take ultimate patience and effort to get out.
With it being worse, we now need to make even more radical moves, but they're just getting to realization of what I told them on Monday.
Some people are calling in sick (while not sick) just to avoid being here.

Okay, long story short. My best friend has been with this guy for 7 years, since she was like 17. They've been living together for 4 years. They got engaged in April. About 2 weeks ago, he broke up with her and finally admitted it was because he slept with someone else.
She has handled it surprisingly well. She has obviously been upset and it is basically the worst thing that has ever happened to, but I think her reaction has been a pretty good balance of emotion and logic, and i'm proud of her for that, because I am very emotional and I think that side of me would take over if this happened to me.
Anyway, so for the past 2 weeks she hasn't talked to him. He got all his shit out of there house and her mom has been staying with her. Anyhow, she facebook stalked this girl he cheated with, somehow found out where she lived from the pictures on her page. She had kind of a snap today because she drove by and saw his car parked outside this girls house. She went and pounded on the door, and called his cell three times, but no one answered. she finally left and called me.
I am really torn about telling her what to do. On the one hand, this whole time I have been telling her to forget about it and not invest her energy into causing a scene and just move on because it won't change anything for the long run. But I'm startring to get super pissed that he got off scott free. She wrote him this huge letter when he broke up with her (before she knew about the cheating) about how much she loved him and what all their problems were and what they could do to fix them. And he just left her a note that said "everything you said is right and I don't know what else to say."
FUCK THAT! He has just walked away from a seven year relationship and made a totally clean break and I'm starting to think he really deserves to suffer. I am starting to agree with some of my other friends, who all along have been saying she should write him a huge letter describing exactly how much he hurt her and what a shitty person he is, and do the same thing to this girl. I AM SO PISSED RIGHT NOW. _________________ happiness is not a fish that you can catch. |

I'm so fucking sick of my job, and I've only been there a month. I did not get a degree in education to work at a daycare and wipe up poopy butts and deal with children who kick, spit, scratch, bite, and pinch me and the other children for $11 an hour. Not to mention these "lesson plans" for 3 year olds that we hardly get time to work on, much less be provided the materials to use for them, with their strict guidelines. Over it! I wish I was hired for a real teaching job soon. I've also been applying for teaching assistant and paraprofessional jobs within elementary schools because with one of those jobs, I'd be getting about the same pay now, but much less stress and a shorter work day.
I need a drink!!! And someone to shoot. _________________ + veronica

Wow, that sounds really bad. We were hoping it would be a good place until you got a full teaching spot.
When do school districts do the hiring for next year? _________________ The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining. |

Well, they literally hire year-round because there are people who end up leaving for various reasons, but the majority of hiring is done in the summer. But, they've had to make budget cuts, so they're not hiring as many teachers as they have in the past (depending on the school district), and more teachers are retiring later than they had planned. Plus, there's so many of us new teachers/recent grads looking for jobs, plus other people who have been laid off in other fields who get teaching certification because they figure it's "easy" to teach, so their applications/resumes are flooding the school districts as well. Also, unfortunately, a lot of hiring is done by who you know...one of my friends (also a recent education grad) was at a school district's job fair a few months ago, and some school district employees were pulling people out of line to cut in front of others, saying things like "Oh Mr./Mrs. Principal, this so and so, she/he is so great!!"...so not right. Unfortunately, for people like me, you just have to really stand out above others, which is hard. _________________ + veronica

Dear Giant Group of Bicycle Riders,
If you cannot pedal at a speed of at least forty-five miles per hour, which is the speed limit on the road you were so rudely hogging tonight, find yourselves a fucking bike path or sidewalk and stop blocking my commute home from work.
Love,

on friday i saved alot of money that i would have spent on the new season 4 dexter dvd. I FUCKING WON THE SCAENGER HUNT!!!!
It came with a prerelease dexter season 4 dvd set, a dexter character bobble head (i wanted mazuka but they didnt have any so i went with dexter) as other goodies.
It took three hours of walking, searching and exploring sunny downtown san diego but it was worth it. _________________ "if you could wish anything what would it be" - andy
