First off it should be noted I'm new so if this topic has already been made I apologize!! Razz

But I love looking at people's music collections, it's always fun to see how devoted some fans are to the music they love. I started going out and buying albums, LP's, and 7 inches in October. I've kind of approached it where I'll focus on one person in particular and once I have everything they've done that I want I'll move on to the next person/band. So my Conor Oberst collection consists of:

Conor Oberst
Water (cassette)

Commander Venus
Music me all over (7")
The Uneventful Vacation (CD)
The Uneventful Vacation (LP)

The Magnetas
Ghostmeat Parts Compilation (CD)

Park Ave.
The Wrens/Park Ave. split single (7")
When Jamie went to London... We broke up (CD)

Bright Eyes
Bright Eyes/Squadcar 96 Split (7")
Letting off the happiness (CD)
Every Day And Every Night (LP)
Every Day And Every Night (CD)
Bright Eyes With Rilo Kiley / Sorry About Dresden (7")
Too much of a good thing is a good thing (7")
Insound Tour Support EP (CD)
Fevers and mirrors (CD)
Fevers and mirrors (Japanese import)
Fevers and mirrors (LP)
A Collection of Songs Written and Recorded 1995-1997 (CD)
Bright Eyes vs. Her Space Holiday (CD)
Don't Be Frightened of Turning the Page (CD)
Oh Holy Fools - The Music of Son, Ambulance and Bright Eyes (CD)
I Will Be Grateful for This Day, I Will Be Grateful for Each Day to Come (7")
3 New Hit Songs From Bright Eyes (CD)
The album leaf collaboration volume I (7")
There is no beginning to the story (CD)
Home Volume IV (CD)
Lifted or The Story Is In The Soil Keep your Ear to the Ground (CD)
Lifted or The Story Is In The Soil Keep your Ear to the Ground (LP)
Lifted or The Story Is In The Soil Keep your Ear to the Ground (Promo)
3 more hit songs! (CD)
One Jug of Wine, Two Vessels (CD)
Lua (CD)
I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning (CD)
I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning (LP)
Digital ash in a digital urn (CD)
Digital ash in a digital urn (LP)
First day of my life (CD)
Take it easy (7")
Motion Sickness (CD)
Noise floor (CD)
Four Winds (CD)
Four Winds (LP)
Cassadaga (CD)
Cassadaga (LP)

Desaparecidos
The happiest place on earth (CD)
What's new for fall (7")
Read Music - Speak Spanish (CD)

Conor Oberst & The Mystic Valley Band
Self titled (CD)
Self titled (LP)
Outer South (CD)

Monsters Of Folk
Monsters Of Folk (CD)

After I finish up with Conor's stuff I'm gonna start on Rilo Kiley/Jenny Lewis. Conor and Jenny are both by far my favorite musicians.

haha, thanks! I'm framing most of the rare stuff. I always joke with my friends that hate bright eyes that one day I'm gonna take a girl home that happens to love him and she's gonna die when she sees the collection surrounding my walls Razz I won't be satisfied until I have a copy of the letting off the happiness LP and his cassettes (Water is on ebay right now and I'm gonna take a shot at getting it)

On a different note,
when I start collecting Rilo Kiley stuff I'm trying to mentally prepare myself now for the difficult road ahead grabbing a hold of all the Initial friend pressings.

I too am a huge Brand New fan. I haven't really gotten into Daisy much though. It's sooo much different from their other stuff. I'd have to say that Deja Entendu and The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me are my two favorites of theirs. I used to be really into Sense Fail but I made a huge change in what I listened to at the beginning of 2007. Rilo Kiley was the band that kicked that change off. Smile

Well mine isn't as impressive as the OP's Bright Eye's collection but I'm a huge Bjork fan as well as her previous "punk" bands. Here's what I have.

Kukl (A band Bjork was in the 80's. I believe this is their only album)
The Eye (1984)

The Sugarcubes

Here Today, Tomorrow, Next Week! (1989)
Stick Around For Joy (1992)
It's It (Remix Compilation) (1992)
The Great Crossover Potential (Greatest Hits) (1998)

Bj÷rk Gumundsdˇttir & Trݡ Gumundar Ingˇlfssonar
Gling Glo (1990)

Bjork
Bjork (1977) I found this on cassette in a thrift store but apparently its very rare. Go figure.
Debut (1993)
Post (1995)
Telegram (1996)
Homogenic (1997)
Selmasongs (2000)
Vespertine (2001)
Greatest Hits (2002)
Family Tree (2002)
Live Box (2003)
Medulla (2004)
Army Of Me: Remixes and Covers (2005)
Drawing Restraint 9 (2005)
Volta (2007)
Voltaic (2009)

Singles
Human Behavior
Venus As A Boy
Big Time Sensuality
Violently Happy
Hyper Ballad
I Miss You
Possibly Maybe
Joga
Bachelorette
Alarm Call
Hidden Place
Earth Intruders

DVD's

I hate to break it to you but I never met woman who was impressed by a large record collection. It is of course worth having for its own sake (no Saddle Creek Xmas album?), but I'd work on other pulling techniques.

blimey - get yerself over to Canada Aria!

But I'm sceptical, even Mrs SPT, who's a big music fan, isn't likely to list my record collection in my top 20 attributes, and as "not actually physically repulsive" is at number 4 that's saying something. (mind you given that the bands I've got a pretty exhaustive collection of include Killdozer and Nomeansno then not entirely surprising)

cityclass: bloke in band, even a crappy little one, vs bloke with big record collection? Honestly?

ooh, and you need Saddle Creek 50 and Dark was the Night compilations as well as the Xmas album.

This thread has made me all nostalgic, I miss that feeling of absolutely needing to own a record. Back 20 years ago it used to require real dedication and luck to find rare stuff (even to know it existed). But I've lost my completist urges.
