I knew there was a reason I thought you were cool, Apex.
Anyone who values Mary Lou Lord is pretty cool in my book. She's my all-time favorite solo female artist and I think she's woefully forgotten in the current music scene. I really thought she was going to be huge just by her catalogue and talent.
She's amazing. |
I was living off of Got No Shadow, Baby Blue and Live City Sounds for years because her debut self-titled album was really hard to find locally. Finally I found it used either last spring or the previous one, and was completely blown away by how great it was. I loved Got No Shadow, but her debut was even better in my book.
I'm glad I got the chance to see her live about four years ago, because I don't think I could live it down had I missed the show. _________________ My username is apexsensation. But you can call me Jason if you'd like.

I'm glad my friend mentioned it to me. He's an Anniversary fan and knew that I was as well, so he told me about the show, but wasn't able to go. As great as the recordings are, they're much better live.

I'm so glad you had her on your list. The turnout was pretty bad when she last played here, but we tried to compensate for lack of crowd size by singing along and dancing. _________________ My username is apexsensation. But you can call me Jason if you'd like.

Oh, Emma-Lee is great. I remember when they sent me a request on my music space and I was like And then I was like hey I like this. They only had one song then. She is amazing though, very jazzy. _________________ When the palm trees bow their heads; no matter how cruel I've been. LA, you always let me back in. |

Lenka and Meiko are both on the fall Hotel Cafe tour dates. I'm so excited for that, because of the six people I want to see on that tour, four of them are playing the Salt Lake date, including my two favorites, Meiko and Rachael Yamagata.
I was able to catch Meiko on Friday night again, and she played a couple of new songs which made me happy. _________________ My username is apexsensation. But you can call me Jason if you'd like.

I'd completely forgot about Tara Jane until I picked up an album of hers for really cheap two weeks ago. I saw her live when she opened for Mirah and I remember being almost as excited to see her play as Mirah. _________________ My username is apexsensation. But you can call me Jason if you'd like.
